Three times as many men die from suicide compared to women, and men aged 40-49 have the highest suicide rates in the UK. These tragic statistics are something that SolidTek is committed to help change. And the first step is to dissolve stigma around men’s mental health by starting the conversation.
In addition, SolidTek is supporting Sean’s Place, a men’s mental health charity, by way of financial donation each month. Sean’s Place was founded by Debbie who lost her brother to mental health in July 2019. During this time, Debbie became aware of how widespread the struggle with mental health is for men – a struggle which is often felt in silence. She decided to take the steps to create a place that offered support, time, and guidance to those who need it, and Sean’s Place is the result.
The aim at Sean’s Place is to improve men’s mental health and well-being across Liverpool City Region. A variety of workshops, clubs, classes and informal “coffee and connect” sessions are offered to improve men’s confidence and self-esteem whilst reducing symptoms of stress and anxiety. Sessions are solution-focused and provide techniques that can be used to support you at home, in the workplace and in the community.
SolidTek Limited, based in Knowsley, is committed to supporting the local community in Knowsley and Liverpool City Region and feel strongly that men’s mental health is of incredible importance. It’s so important to speak up and support organisations who are trying to positively change the lives of men affected. That’s why SolidTek Limited have offered a monthly donation to Sean’s Place to help with the services that they provide.
